About Tenika

Tenika is a passionate enthusiastic lover of all things in the Spa and Beauty space. She was born and raised in Westchester County suburbs in Mount Vernon, NY. She began her love for beauty industry at the age of 12, while working for her older sister as her shampoo girl/assistant.

She went to Mount Vernon High School and enrolled in the cosmetology program. Upon graduation, she was recruited to work in a High End Full Service Salon. After spending 3 years working numerous hours with no weekend off at the salon, she decided to join the corporate workforce and enroll in college. She spent 26 years working for corporate while earning a degree in International Business with Trade Option.

Eight years ago, she was laid off from her corporate job in Orangeburg, NY. She decided that she would go back into the beauty industry, where she began researching popular spa and medi spa trends. She stumbled across an article which head lined “Waxing Will Become A Billion Dollar Industry By The Year 2020” and her chest began pounding with so much enthusiasm. She thought to herself, “How can I earn my 1% of this billion dollar industry doing something I already love doing?”

After a couple of business meetings and several phone calls later, Opulence Waxing Spa LLC was born!
